Review Process
We followed the instructions on the pack and microwaved the popbox for 2 minutes. The moment we started to notice that the popping sound had slowed down, we took out the popbox.
Due to the results of our first try, we made the popcorn again in a different microwave to rule out any equipment-related issues. Results below.
Holistic Overview
First things first, here are some highlights of our cooking experience!
- Despite keeping a close eye on the popping process, our batch of popcorn, especially the sugar-coated ones, was completely burnt.
- After just 2 minutes in the microwave, we noticed that the sugar-coated kernels had burnt, clumping together unpleasantly (see images).
- We decided to give it another shot and microwaved the popcorn in a different microwave.
- This time, we observed that the sugar-coated kernels burnt even faster. This happened despite taking them out in time.
- Lastly, when we tried to pull the box out too early, we noticed that many of the kernels at the bottom didn’t pop at all.
The kernels that had not burnt – popped perfectly, were crunchy, and well-seasoned. The kernel size was ideal. The remaining bowl of popcorn has a delightful combination of sweet and salty flavors that were well-balanced.
The popcorn was crunchy without being too oily. While most of the kernels popped beautifully, there were a few that remained at the bottom

This inconsistency marred the experience, as burnt clumps detracted from what could have been a perfect snack.
Additionally, unpopped kernels at the bottom of the box posed another minor inconvenience.
