SUPERB!
Summary
We tried Amul Shrikhand in Mango and Kesar. Both variants had equally good flavors and textures.
Shrikhand is one of the most relished desserts in India. While some savor it with hot puris, others have it as a summer savior.
So what is Shrikhand? Essentially, this is strained, stirred, and sweetened yogurt, flavored with fruits and spices like cinnamon and cardamom- when eaten fresh, this is nothing short of delight. And to tackle our cravings instantly, we ordered two flavors – mango and kesar, for our Amul Shrikhand review.
Below are the details.
Our Review Factors
1. Taste
Fresh and milky with a prominently pleasing flavor of the star ingredient (mango and kesar) is what we primarily looked for. Balanced sweetness with a noticeable flavor of aromatic spices (if any).
2. Texture
Smooth with a rich, creamy mouthfeel and absence of grittiness- these are the sub parameters we assessed the texture across. Unlike yogurt cups, these are very thick and have no watery layer on top.
3. Secondary Parameters
The ingredients, quality of milk products, price, packaging, and shelf life were checked.
Amul Shrikhand Flavours – Detailed Review
1. Mango
Our Experience
With a pleasing aroma and an equally appealing appearance, this had a commendable flavor. This cup of shrikhand featured the innate mild sourness that curd has along with a fresh, sweet mango flavor. All–in-all, the flavors were in sync.
As for the texture, this was thick and had a creamy mouthfeel. There was no graininess, whatsoever, which we liked.

2. Kesar
Our Experience
Commonly, saffron-flavored products are too intense. Luckily, that was not the case with this Amul Shrikhand. The sweetness and earthy-floral notes of saffron were rounded. The sourness was subtle but noticeable, and overall, this tasted fresh.
As for appearance, this was a shade lighter than Mango, and here, we could see some strands of saffron. Just like the first variant, this was thick, smooth, and creamy. We were delighted to see no greasy or varying textures.
