Mishry Rating
Summary
Notta Sin Spreads offer a step up from traditional high-sugar, high-oil spreads, featuring beneficial ingredients like prebiotics and almonds. However, while better, they don't quite reach "truly healthy" status. We found the Chocolate-Strawberry variant to be the most palatable of the three, and the rating is for the same.
In a market where many chocolate spreads are loaded with refined sugars and unhealthy fats, Notta Sin Spreads presents a better alternative. Crafted using monk fruit, stevia, prebiotic fibers, and real nuts, these spreads claim to be guilt-free. However, the critical question remains: do these spreads effectively satisfy sweet cravings while maintaining an enjoyable taste and texture?
We have put 3 flavors to the test to find out if they live up to the promise!

Our Review Factors
Our Review Goal? We seek a well-balanced sweet spread, free from any aftertaste typically associated with artificial sweeteners. Some parameters we tested them on are:
1. Taste
- Sweetness: These spreads are sweetened using monk fruit and stevia. Considering this, is the overall sweetness balanced?
- Aftertaste: Does the spread provide a delightful lingering flavor? Or is there a distinct aftertaste from the sweeteners?
- Flavor: In the case of the Choco Hazelnut and Choco Almond spreads, how rich is the chocolate flavor? How prominent is the flavor of the nuts. In case of the strawberry spread, how fruity is the flavor?
2. Texture
- Spreadability: How easy and effortless it is to apply these spreads on bread, rotis or crackers?
- Smoothness: Is it a smooth, creamy spread or does it contain bits of nuts?
3. Ingredients + Nutrition Label
A thorough inspection of the ingredient list is required to determine the quality and nutritional value of a product. Notta Sin spreads are sweetened with exotic monk fruit and natural stevia. These are free of added sugar and supplemented with prebiotic fiber. Additionally, these are made with 30% more cocoa and 15% more nuts than regular chocolate spreads. Given these promises, we thoroughly reviewed the nutrition label.
4. Other Aspects
We also took note of the price, packaging, and shelf life for each flavor during our review process.

Our Analysis of the Nutritional Label
The ingredient list reveals a mix of beneficial and potentially concerning components. It boasts gut-friendly prebiotics, protein from milk solids, and healthy fats from almonds and cocoa butter. Natural sweeteners like monk fruit and stevia are a plus. However, the inclusion of palm superolein raises questions about cholesterol impact, and maltitol may cause digestive discomfort for some. Overall, while the spread offers some nutritional benefits, the presence of refined oils and sugar alcohols suggests it may not be the completely “guilt-free” indulgence it claims to be.
The Verdict: Sinful or Sensible?
- The Good: Prebiotic fibers, almonds, monk fruit, stevia, and rosemary extract are all solid choices.
- The Questionable: Palm superolein and maltitol may have potential drawbacks, depending on individual tolerance.
- The Neutral: Milk solids, sunflower oil, tapioca dextrin, and lecithin are common but not particularly beneficial.
Notta Sin’s spreads might be seen as a healthier alternative to other oil and sugar-loaded spreads. It is crucial to note that they still contain some processed ingredients and sweeteners, which may not be suitable for everyone’s dietary needs.
Recommendation:
- Moderation is key
- Be mindful of maltitol if you have any digestive sensitivities.
- If palm oil is a concern opt for better alternatives

1. Choco Strawberry Spread
Product Highlights
The Choco Strawberry Spread is packaged in a lovely little plastic jar with attractive graphics that make it visually appealing. Priced at ₹149 for an 80g pack, it offers a 12-month shelf life.

Key Ingredients
- Prebiotic Fibers (Chicory Root Fibre, Fructo-Oligosaccharide), Milk Solids, Almonds-15.1%, Palm Superolein, Maltitol, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Dextrin, Cocoa Butter, Freeze Dried strawberries (1.3%), Emulsifier (Lecithin), Nature Identical Flavours, Monk Fruit Juice Extract, Rosemary Extract, and Stevia.
Our Verdict
The Chocolate Strawberry spread tasted better than the other variants. This was the only flavor where we could enjoy the real flavor of the spread. It had no overpowering presence of the sweeteners.
Texture-wise, this is a thick spread with a generous amount of freeze-dried strawberries. When we opened the jar, the spread was settled at the bottom. Hence, to get the best consistency and flavor, we recommend stirring it well before use. These berries retain a delightful crisp bite, adding a contrasting texture that enhances the overall experience.
Visually this spread looked attractive – the vibrant red strawberries against the creamy white base. Compared to the chocolate-based spreads, this one was much better received by our tasting panel.

- Thick spread
- Loaded with freeze-dried strawberries
- Texture of the strawberries and the spread is commendable.
- Looks appealing
- Flavor of artificial sweeteners does not overpower
- The spread tends to settle at the bottom and requires stirring before use.
If you’re a fan of white chocolate paired with fruity berry notes, this white chocolate-strawberry spread is definitely the one to go for.
2. Choco Almond Spread
Product Highlights
The Choco Almond Spread comes in an adorable plastic jar with vibrant graphics. It retails at a cost of ₹175 for 80g. The shelf life it offers is 12 months.

Key Ingredients
- Prebiotic Fibers (Fructo-Oligosaccharide, Chicory Root Fibre), Almonds-15.1%, Milk Solids, Palm Superolein, Cocoa Solids-10%, Maltitol, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Dextrin, Emulsifier (Lecithin), Nature Identical Flavours, Monk Fruit Juice Extract, Stevia, and Rosemary Extract.
Our Verdict
While the spread delivers a rich chocolaty flavor, the aftertaste is heavily dominated by the added sweeteners. The presence of stevia leaves a lingering taste that interferes with the flavor of the chocolate. It lends a distinct aftertaste that some may find overwhelming.
Our tasting panel appreciated the balanced combination of chocolate and almonds, but the overpowering sweetener aftertaste made it less palatable. On the plus side, the texture is thick, silky smooth, and easy to spread, making it ideal for use over toast or crackers.
In addition, there was no evident oil separation. However, for best results consider stirring it well before use.

3. Choco Hazelnut Spread
Product Highlights
Similar to the above, The Choco Hazelnut Spread too bags an attractive plastic jar packaging. It is priced at Rs. 175 for 80 gm and offers a shelf life of 12 months.

Key Ingredients
- Prebiotic Fibers (Fructo-Oligosaccharide, Chicory Root Fibre), Hazelnuts-15.1%, Milk Solids, Palm Superolein, Cocoa Solids-10%, Maltitol, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Dextrin, Emulsifier (Lecithin), Nature Identical Flavours, Monk Fruit Juice Extract, Stevia, and Rosemary Extract.
Our Verdict
This hazelnut spread has an inviting aroma of hazelnuts. Texture-wise, it is similar to the previous variant – Thick, smooth and easy to spread.
In terms of the flavor we did not like it either. It has an unappealing and lingering artificial presence of sweeteners, which significantly affects the overall experience. While the aroma was a highlight, our tasting panel found the aftertaste too intense.

Notta Sin Spreads provide a healthier option compared to traditional chocolate spreads.
