Fun Fact
The birth of the vacuum cleaner is a rather interesting story. British engineer, Hubert Cecil Booth, who was at a demonstration of a new cleaning machine in 1901, noted that that appliance had a problem. It blew out air in order to catch dust from a carpet. When Booth pointed it out, the inventor was dismissive. Taking it up as a challenge, the engineer decided to make one himself. After many experiments, one of which almost killed him, Booth founded the British Vacuum Cleaner Company and inaugurated his cleaning gadget. It was a massive machine that went door to door of the rich in London offering to clean their carpets. And get this, this machine was drawn by horses!
