Summary

While they call themselves healthy and vegan, Ador Health biscuits are not exactly healthy, as they contain palm oil. They are also made using butter which is not a vegan friendly food. The taste too, unfortunately is not the best.

Biscuits are regular accompaniments with tea and coffee around the world. They are often a quick and easy snack when hunger strikes. Of course, the types of biscuits and cookies now available is mind-boggling. From cream-based sandwich biscuits to butter cookies, and from savory crackers to decadent chocolate-loaded ones – the list is large and wide.

There is also a range that claims to be healthier alternatives, promising better ingredients along with a taste you would want to keep going back to.

Ador Health is one such brand that claims to offer a balance of both. Sadly, we found both claims to be missing during our tasting session of two biscuit flavors by the brand.

Let us first tell you a bit about Ador Health.

Ador Health is made up of a team of doctors, dieticians, food technologists, and chefs who are ‘on a mission to make people healthy by providing ultra low carb foods for all meals of the day’.

We tried two flavors of their Ultra Low Carb Biscuits range – Chocolate & Jeera.

At first glance, the list of ingredients and claims on the pack seem impressive. The biscuits are rich in Omega-3, High in fiber, aid weight loss, and are supposed to be keto-friendly. Sadly, both these products taste utterly disappointing and we would not recommend buying these.

Do read our review below to know what exactly we mean.

The Jeera biscuits by Ador Health are made using ‘super seeds’. The pack mentions that each biscuit has 80% less carbohydrates as compared to regular biscuits.

These are high-protein, along with being rich in antioxidants.

Ador Health Ultra Low Carb Biscuits – Jeera Review

Ador Health Biscuits

In one line – the Jeera-flavored Ultra Low Carb Biscuits by Ador Healthy are just not palatable.

The biscuits look fine, there are small specs of crushed seeds and bran visible on the top layer giving off a dry appearance. Upon tasting, we found the biscuits to be even drier.

Jeera(cumin) is dominant but feels a bit too strong. Having said that, this would still be acceptable to people who love savory/cumin-flavored biscuits.

The real problem is the bitter-aftertaste, that lingers on in your mouth for a long time. After a bite or two, you really are unable to finish even one full biscuit.

Further, the use of palm oil brings down the health claims certainly.

Features and Product Information

*As per information on the pack

  • Made of Super Seeds
  • Rich in Omega3 & antioxidants from super seeds
  • High in Fiber
  • Diabetes Remission
  • Weight Loss
  • Keto-Friendly
  • Super Healthy biscuits

Pros

  • Use of a variety of seeds like watermelon, sunflower, and pumpkin seeds

Cons

  • Bitter Aftertaste
  • Dry texture
  • Label screams of nutrition but the list of ingredients shows the use of Palm oil.
  • While the label says ‘suitable for a vegan diet’, the product is made using butter which is not vegan-friendly food.

Reasons Not to Choose Ador Health Ultra Low Carb Biscuits – Jeera

There are approximately 16 biscuits in the pet jar and priced at INR 195/- which means each biscuit is INR 12/- approximately. This is quite expensive for the taste and quality you get.

This Ador Health Ultra Low Carb Biscuits cannot really be called a keto diet snack for the fact that it contains Palm oil. While there is the use of butter, keto-foods are high in quality fats and the use of refined/palm oil is discouraged.

The label suggests that this snack is suitable for a vegan diet, but because of the presence of butter in the ingredients list – we would recheck this claim.

Dry and Rough

Ador Health Ultra Low Carb Biscuits – Jeera is very dry and fibrous to the point of being off-putting.

Bitter Taste

The bitterness which starts midway through a bite, and continues till the end of the biscuit is a major disappointment.

Excessively Fibrous

Too much fiber makes eating and chewing a bit uncomfortable on the tongue. Some of the tasters ended up having lightly bruised palates.

Incorrect proportion of Wheat Fiber

Wheat bran fiber leads to too much dryness in the biscuit.

Quick Review Keto Biscuits by Ador Health Ultra Low Carb Biscuits- Chocolate

People who follow a ketogenic diet consume foods that are high in quality fat sources and low in carbohydrates. There is a wide range of keto-friendly snacks now available for people to snack on in between meals.

Ador Health Ultra-low carb biscuits in chocolate flavor suggest that this product is suitable for people who follow a low carbohydrate, keto Diet, and vegan diets.

However, we found in our review that the Chocolate Biscuits by Ador Health have a long way to go before these can become regular items in your pantry.

Ador Health’s Ultra Low Carb Biscuits Review- Chocolate

Ador Health Biscuits

Ador Health’s Ultra Low Carb Biscuits-Chocolate seems to be a potpourri of healthy ingredients with an unfavorable outcome.

No doubt the biscuits are high in fiber, high on proteins, very low in carbohydrates and sugar but having healthy food doesn’t mean one needs to have unpalatable food.

We reviewed two flavors of ultra low carb biscuits by Ador i.e. Chocolate and Jeera and liked none of the flavors.

Features

  • Square-shaped chocolate-colored biscuits.
  • Made up of Superfoods
  • Contains Palm oil.

Pros

No pros, this product is inedible.

Cons

  • Not edible
  • Too bitter, and complete absence of chocolate flavor.
  • Excessively dry and feels terribly rough on the palate
  • Uses butter even though the label says it is suitable for a vegan diet.

Reasons NOT to choose Ador Health’s Ultra Low Carb Biscuits

Bitter

Taste is awfully bitter with extreme dryness. No taste of the healthy seeds used as the bitterness is overpowering. You would soon want to have something tasty to change the taste in your mouth.

Extra-fibrous

Too much fibre has been added to the biscuits making it dense on your palate. You feel like guzzling water even after having a bite or two.

Not a chocolate biscuit

Very slight aroma of chocolate and peanuts is felt however one cannot taste any chocolate in the biscuit. No flavour of chocolate can be tasted.

Unhealthy ingredient used

Palm oil is high in saturated fat and boosts up triglycerides and “bad” LDL Cholesterol. Using it in a product that claims so many health benefits seems counter-productive.

More Points:

  • It is a very expensive product for INR 215/- for a 190gm pack.
  • Too many health claims on the pack, but very little is supported via the ingredients used.
  • Perhaps good quality dark chocolate could have been used as an ingredient as dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants.
  • Keto friendly food is required to have good fats, so using palm oil like any other mass-produced biscuit makes one rethink all the health claims made.
  • Taste definitely needs to be improved, otherwise we don’t see people buying the product again after their first purchase.
