#FirstImpressions Of Kitchen Of India’s Dal Bukhara
So if Dal Bukhara by Kitchen Of India’s was meant to replicate the creamy, buttery decadence of the dish by the same name from ITC Maurya’s Bukhara restaurant, it doesn’t do justice.
We agree it may be hard to replicate the richness and distinct flavors of Dal Bukhara made fresh at the restaurant, but this one doesn’t even come close.
We felt that the packaged version of Dal Bukhara had too much tanginess from tomatoes, and in addition to that, there was an unmissable excess of ginger. Together, these two factors made Dal Bukhara by Kitchen Of India’s not something we would go for again.
In fact, in our recent review of the Most Authentic Ready-To-Eat Dal Makhani, it was ITC Kitchens Of India Dal Makhani (Ready-To-Eat) that was picked as the tastiest dal makhani. ITC has also had a number of delicious launches in the ready-to-cook/frozen category recently. Like their Vada Pops, and Falafel Kebabs, both of which are tasty and do justice to ITC’s culinary legacy. This one, however, has been a bit of a letdown. Even those who have not been to Delhi’s Bukhara restaurant would find this Dal dish a bit underwhelming. We prefer the Dal Makhani by ITC any day.
