Khichdi, a dish based on rice and lentils, is everyone’s favorite comfort food. Irrespective of age, time or season, khichdi evokes a sense of warmth and well-being like no other dish. It is not only healthy, but a plate of khichdi also offers a great deal of versatility. In fact, every home has its own way of cooking khichdi. Some add a mix of veggies to make it more wholesome, others add spices like zeera and hing to further elevate the flavors. Another way to make your khichdi more nutrient-dense is by adding a more varied mix of grains. A multi-grain and millet-based khichdi can be tasty and healthy. Tata Sampann’s new 6-rain khichdi mix intends to bring the goodness of grains such as ragi, bajra and jowar into an easy-to-make recipe crafted by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. In fact, this recipe is inspired by the Guinness World Record winning Khichdi recipe prepared by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and a team of 50 volunteers in November 2017.

#FirstImpression Of Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix

First things first, Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix is a ready-to-cook khichdi mix, containing grains and spices, that you need to cook just like you cook khichdi at home. The instructions at the back of the pack work flawlessly, and what you get at the end is an aromatic, homestyle and well-cooked khichdi.

Mishry Reviews:
Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix is a mix of grains and spices that you need to cook just like you cook khichdi at home.

The khichdi comes with a separate masala that you need to sauté before adding in the washed grains. The masala is dry and adds all the gingery punch to the dish. We cooked Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix in pure ghee and that added more flavor to the final outcome.

Mishry Reviews: Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix: The mix comes with a small pack of dry masalas.

The khichdi cooked well in 4-5 whistles, had a fresh aroma and felt distinctly homestyle. While it is not over-spiced, this is definitely not for kids who may be a bit more sensitive to pieces of ginger and a hint of chili in their food.

So who is Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix for? It is for people who like khichdi after a long and tiring day, but may not necessarily always stock all the different grains that go into making your khichdi hearty and wholesome. Also, you may not know how much, and in what ratio to use grains like ragi, jowar or rajgira in your khichdi. This pre-mix solves that problem for you.

There are no preservatives or additives, just a mix of grains and a separate sachet of a dry masala – which contains ginger, cumin, mustard seeds, and dehydrated onions to name a few ingredients. The ginger tastes especially fresh.

If you yearn for homestyle, simple, hearty khichdi away from home sometimes, try this one out. Oh, and with a bowl of curd and a little pickle, Tata Sampann’s 6 Grain Khichdi Mix would taste even better!
