Our Review Factors
Our Expectations? We are looking for quick-to-heat masala lachcha parathas with flaky layers and balanced spices.
We set the following review parameters for our review:
1. Taste
We are in search of fresh-tasting lachcha parathas with well-balanced salt and spice levels. Are there any lingering oily or unpleasant aftertastes?
2. Texture
Does the paratha have the characteristic flaky and crispy exterior, along with a soft bite that a lachcha paratha is known for? We attempted to determine if a packaged, frozen paratha could replicate the manual efforts.
3. Convenience
We are looking at the following points here:
- How easy are these parathas to heat up?
- How long does it take for these parathas to crisp up?
- Does it require excessive use of oil/ghee while heating?
4. Other Aspects
Packaging
Is the packaging resealable? Are the parathas sticking to each other? Does the packaging maintain the freshness of the paratha?

Team Mishry’s Observations
Appearance
In terms of the size, these are medium parathas with a moderate thickness (ranging from medium to thin). The characteristic lachchas or the flaky layers were clearly visible throughout the parathas.
The red chilli masala was also visible here.
Cooking Process
These parathas are partially cooked which makes them quick and convenient to heat up.
Taste + Texture
The best part about these pre-packed parathas is that they are extremely homestyle. The parathas are tasty with a moderate red chili heat that’s not overpowering. It beautifully captures the feel of how a homemade paratha would taste like.
These tasted fresh and had no stale or ‘bassi’ aftertaste. When heated, the paratha crisps up perfectly, and that too without the use of any extra oil.
For the best experience, it’s recommended to enjoy these parathas while they’re hot, as they tend to lose their softness and become slightly harder as they begin to cool down.
Here’s a tip: It is important to press the paratha gently on the tawa or pan. Pressing too hard can make it overly crispy.
The clean ingredient list is another major plus, as it ensures a wholesome product without any unnecessary additives or preservatives.
- Fresh and homestyle lachcha parathas
- Clean ingredient list
- Convenient
- Pleasant red chilli flavor
- Crisps up easily
If you’re short on time or live alone or crave homestyle lachcha parathas, these ready to eat lachcha parathas by Haldiram’s are a great alternative to try.
