The ITC Chicken Seekh Kebabs cooked evenly. We liked the juiciness of the kebab and the familiar, fresh flavors of the seekh kebab are very pleasing.

Appearance and aroma – Oh, these smell lovely! Our test kitchen was full of that remarkable spicy-meaty aroma. The Chicken Seekh Kebabs are even in shape and size, like all ITC Master Chef products we reviewed in 2020. One of them even made it to our Best of 2020 list. We could see a lot of green chilies and green coriander in this.

Cooking method – As per the instructions given on the pack, the ITC Masterchef Chicken Seekh Kebab can be cooked using three methods – on a tawa, in a microwave, or can be baked as well. We shallow fried the kebabs in a frying pan. According to the instructions, these kebabs need to be thawed at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking them in oil on a heated tawa/pan. This is exactly what we did. We cooked the kebabs using regular vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes.

Taste and texture – The chicken seekh kebabs cooked evenly and have a good, fresh aroma and flavor. In no way can frozen kebabs be compared with fresh kebabs that require hours of marination and slow cooking. So when we review packaged, frozen kebabs we do keep that margin for flavor and texture.
The ITC Chicken Seekh Kebab is juicy. The flavor of these kebabs is very familiar and you feel as if it’s something you’ve been eating for a long time. The coriander and chili flavor along with the meatiness was delicious. We liked these well-seasoned kebabs.
As for texture, let’s put this here. These kebabs are processed meat with a bread-crumbed surface. When you’re eating old-style homemade or just off-the-grill seekh, the uneven surface and the unadulterated meat texture is an attribute which most of us enjoy. Obviously frozen seekh kebabs may not look or feel similar; in this case, the breaded feel of the kebab is uniform and adds a little extra bite. It may make for a convenient party snack, but may not be preferred by lovers of the mouthfeel, and texture of classic seekh kebabs.

Final Verdict
We were looking for juicy kebabs that delivered in terms of seasoning, succulent texture, and just how much of that chicken can you actually taste.
The ITC Master Chef Chicken Seekh would taste great in a homemade paratha roll or with rumali roti as well. This is a kebab which is perfect for people who love spicy food. If you have a low chili tolerance, we recommend you do not try these as these are spicier than your average seekh kebabs.
