Vodka is an alcoholic drink made out of potatoes or grains like wheat. If you happen to leave half of a Vodka bottle unused, slowly the alcohol would evaporate. Recipe 1 – Vodka Pasta
Ingredients
- Olive oil 2 tbsp
- Garlic – 3 to 4
- Basil – 8 to 10 leaves
- Boiled Pasta – 250 g
- Tomatoes – 5 to 6 – tinned or fresh
- Vodka – ½ cup
- Fresh Cream – about 2 tblspn
- Oregano dried – 1 to 2 tsp
- Parmesan cheese grated – about a cup
- Black olives 3 to 4
Method
- Heat up the pan and add olive oil.
- Add garlic slivers and let them brown.
- Add 5 to 6 fresh Basil and quickly add paste of the tomatoes. (preferably Italian Tomatoes(Roma/Tinned)).
- Saute and add dried oregano.
- Add vodka. Briefly cook. The alcohol will evaporate leaving a nice flavour to the sauce.
- Add boiled penne pasta. Add 2 tbsp of pasta water to loosen out the dish.
- Add full fat cream. Mix and quickly switch off the gas.
- Add about 3/4th cup of parmesan.
- Serve garnished with black olives, basil leaves and grated parmesan.
Serving Suggestion
- Goes well with a glass of red or white wine.
- Celebration dish for a party.
- Vodka Pasta would be best with Penne as the sauce would be coated not only outside but also the inside.
- However you may use Pasta of your choice.
- Serve it with garlic bread on the side.
- You may add blanched broccoli/boiled chicken to the Vodka Pasta.
- Use pitted black olives for this recipe.
- Keep the Pasta al dente.
Recipe 2 – Vodka Watermelon Mojito
Ingredients
- Monin watermelon syrup 15 ml
- Lemon juice 15 ml
- Vodka 45 ml to 60 ml
- Watermelon balls – 8 to 10
- Mint sprig -1
- Soda water – as required
Method
- Take an empty glass of 300 ml capacity.
- Put watermelon syrup in it.
- Put the prepared watermelon balls.
- Add to it Lemon juice and Vodka.
- Stir a bit. Top it up with soda to fill the glass.
- Serve garnished with mint sprig.

- This is a great party welcome drink.
- Goes well with all snacks and starters.
- Great for Friday evenings at home.
- The quantity of Vodka can be adjusted as your liking.
- Serve in a mason jar (of 300 ml) for enhancing the presentation.
- The watermelon balls can also be inserted in a long toothpick.
Recipe 3 – Vodka Orange Sunburst
Ingredients
- Fresh orange juice – 1 cup
- Rosemary sprig – 2
- Vodka – 60 ml
- Grenadine syrup – 1 tbsp
- Soda as required
- Malta slices – 2
Method
- Drop in the malta slices in a 300 ml glass.
- Add to it the freshly squeezed orange juice.
- Add the Vodka. Give a gentle stir.
- Drop in the rosemary sprig. Top it with Soda water.
- From the side of the glass, pour in the grenadine syrup very slowly.
- Burst of colors would be visible in the glass making it absolute sunburst.

- Serve with long straw and a stirrer.

- Do not pre-prepare and keep as fresh juices turn bitter.
- If fresh juice is unavailable then packaged juice can be used. However there would be a slight variation to the taste.
Recipe 4 – Vodka over Vanilla
Ingredients
- Vodka – 90 ml
- Grapes – 50 g – cut into half
- Watermelon – 50 g – cubed
- Apricots – 50 g – wedge cut
- Mango – 50 g cubed
- Vanilla ice cream – 6 scoops
Method
- Marinade the fruits with the vodka for about 30 minutes.
- In a serving cup, put half of the marinated stuff.
- Top it up with two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle some more marinated fruits over vanilla.
- Serve immediately.
Serving Suggestion
- Serve garnished with muesli or roasted almonds.
- Serve over waffles.
- Great as a quick party dessert.
- Fruits can be replaced depending upon the availability.

Recipe 5 – Crispy Battered Fish with Vodka
Ingredients
- Sole Fish boneless – 250 gms
- Egg – 1
- All purpose flour/Maida – 1/4th cup
- Panko bread crumbs – 1/4th cup
- Red chilli powder – 2 tsp divided
- Black pepper powder 2 tsp divided
- Onion powder 2 tsp divided
- Garlic powder 2 tsp divided
- Mexican seasoning powder 2 tsp divided
- Salt as per taste
- Vodka 2 tbsp
- Groundnut oil to deep fry
Method
- Beat egg, season it with salt and add vodka. Mix well.
- In a plate keep the maida.
- Season it with salt, black pepper, onion and garlic powder and mexican seasoning.
- In another plate keep the bread crumbs.
- Season it with salt, black pepper, onion and garlic powder and mexican seasoning.
- Steps to make the fish –
- Dab the fish from both sides in the maida plate.
- Next dab it in the egg-vodka mix
- Next dab it well in the bread crumb plate.
- Deep fry till crispy and reddish brown on both sides.
- Serve with a piece of lemon.
Serving Suggestion
- Battered fish can be served with store bought tartar sauce.
- You can even make a homemade dip to serve the fish.
- Mix 2 tbsp mayo, 1tsp mustard and 1 tsp sriracha sauce to make the dip.
- Serve it with potato fries or baked potato wedges for a complete meal.
- Serve with a cold salad for added freshness.
- For the cold salad grate a carrot, grate a cucumber and 2 tbsp mayo,
- salt and pepper to taste. Add a pinch of mustard powder, mix gently.
- Keep the prepared salad in the fridge till serving time.
- Serve the battered fish immediately to maintain the crispiness.
- Use fillets to prepare this dish as it will help to cook the fish faster without burning the coating of bread crumbs.
