Our Review Factors
What are we expecting? We are looking for a protein-rich snack with balanced sweetness, delightful crunch, and a clean ingredient list.
1. Taste
We checked for the following under this parameter:
- Flavor of the wafer
- Balance of sweetness
- Any artificial aftertaste
- Prominence of the protein flavor
2. Texture
- These should be light and crispy
- Should be able to hold their shape and not crumble
- The coating should be smooth and creamy
- Thickness of the coating
3. Nutri Label
The Superyou Protein Wafers boasts the following claims:
- 10g of protein per serving
- Has no added sugar
- Provides 3 g of fiber
To verify these claims, we examined several key factors:
a. Protein Content
- How much protein per serving?
- What is the source of protein used?
b. Sweeteners Used

SuperYou Protein Wafers deliver crunch and balanced sweetness, with enjoyable flavors. However, the ingredient list is a drawback. While it is devoid of white sugar, it is packed with artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated fats. This makes it far from a clean or healthy option.
Source of Protein Used
Protein Blend (Fermented Nutritional Yeast Protein (22%) + Milk Solids) refers to a combination of two different protein sources used in the product. Here’s what each component means:
- Fermented Nutritional Yeast Protein (22%): Nutritional yeast is a vegan, plant-based protein derived from yeast that has been fermented.
- Milk Solids: This refers to the dried form of milk, which is typically composed of milk proteins (such as casein and whey), lactose, and sometimes minerals.
The source of fat is not great, neither is the source of protein. This also has INS 965 which is Maltitol, a commonly used artificial sweetener. Some use colors and artificial flavorings as well.
We rated the product a 1 mark on the nutrition label solely because it fulfills the 10 gm protein per serve claim. The ingredient list definitely needs improvement.
Also for a snack that claims to be high in protein, the carbohydrate content is relatively high. This is concerning for those looking to control their carb intake.
These protein wafers could work as a biscuit replacement but not as a reliable protein snack.
