How We Did This?
Our 10,000+ community members were asked to participate in a simple voting poll.
- Our polling began on 10th March 2023 and ended on 18th March.
- All they had to do was fill out a few details and choose their preferred brand of gujiya.
- They also chose a reason for their pick.
- Yes, that simple.
Popularity Poll: Decoding the Vote
During our community poll, a staggering 81% favored Haldiram’s Gujiya which paints a clear picture. However, attributing the win solely to taste might be an oversimplification. Here’s a breakdown of contributing factors:
- Variety – 27 % of our community voted for Haldiram’s because they liked the variety the brand has to offer.
- Pricing – While pricing is crucial, a lot of voters did not consider this as a deciding factor. Only 24.3% of people thought that a brand should be chosen as a winner just because their pricing is better.
- Taste – Needless to say, one of the leading reasons why anyone buys mithai from a particular store. 43.4% of our community thinks Haldiram’s serves a tastier gujiya.

Our exploration of gujiyas for the festive season yielded interesting results. In an extensive review held earlier by us as well, Haldiram’s offering stood out for its several noteworthy aspects:
- Visually Appealing Packaging: The gujiyas arrived in neat and clean packaging, maintaining a consistent visual presentation across the box.
- Generous Filling: The quantity of the filling was found to be quite satisfying, ensuring a delightful bite experience.
- Rich Flavor Profile: Roasting and the inclusion of nuts imparted a rich taste to the gujiyas, further enhanced by the pleasant notes of cardamom and saffron.
- Textural Contrast: The pastry crust offered a delightful crispness, providing a satisfying textural contrast to the soft and flavorful filling.
- Balanced Sweetness: The sweetness level was well-rounded, making the gujiyas enjoyable without being overpowering.
Conclusion
While Bikanervala might have won the title, the Haldiram’s vs Bikanervala battle extends beyond taste. Factors like brand recognition, product range, accessibility, and even cultural connection influence consumer choice.
While the poll provides a snapshot of current preferences, it’s crucial to remember that individual tastes and regional variations significantly impact the overall market landscape.
