Our MTR dal oats review is divided into two stages- pre and post-cooking.
Visually, this mix primarily had rolled oats, some dehydrated carrots, onions, and black mustard seeds. A masala mix dominated the aroma.
This instant breakfast requires no cooking, you just need to add half a cup (175 ml) of boiling water and cover the contents for three minutes. We followed these steps and three minutes later, the result was a khichdi-like consistency.
One spoonful into the taste test, we knew this is a pretty good product by MTR. Balanced salt levels, a strong chili kick, and overall tasty flavors. The tomatoes brought a desirable tanginess which tied the entire dish together. Talking about flavoring agents, we could taste the black mustard seeds and cumin.
The dehydrated veggies, especially onions, add a bold bite. We always appreciate some textural variety.
On the other hand, when we scrutinized the ingredient list we came across ghee and garlic. The aromas of these ingredients were barely there and so was the case with their flavors.
That said, as the oatmeal started to cool down it became thicker.
