SUPERB!
Summary
Cheddau2019s Kachoris get the green light from Mishry. With a homestyle touch, the kachoris reflected a great balance between crunchy and soft bites with a well-flavored filling.
Crisp, fried gram flour balls with a sweet-savory filling- what’s not to like? Simply pair it with a cup of tea or go all-out and create an elaborate chaat.
While nothing really beats a freshly fried, crisp Kachori, Chedda’s offers a packaged variant that was a delightful surprise. Everything from appearance to taste and freshness is decoded in Mishry’s Chedda’s Kachori review.

Our Review Factors
In our Chedda’s Kachori review, we were looking for fresh-tasting, well-seasoned, crisp Kachoris.
1. Taste
When poor quality oil is used for frying, it can degrade the overall taste. Did the Kachoris have a rancid taste?
What about the covering, was it well-seasoned? Was the filling flavorful? Too sweet or too spicy- how did it taste?
Is the ratio of covering to filling favorable?
2. Texture
We were looking for a flaky, crunchy cover with soft yet chewy stuffing.
3. Appearance
Partially cracked, completely broken, or identical- are these packaged kachoris ideal for serving?
4. Other Parameters
Aroma
What was the most prominent ingredient in terms of aroma? Was it a spice or was it the source of fat?
Main Ingredients
Kachori typically is prepared with a mix of flours, and spices like pepper, coriander, cumin, chili, among others. In addition to these, did we spot any unidentifiable ingredients?
Price
Price is directly proportional to quality. Taste and packaging combined, is this a value-for-money product?
Packaging
Does this come in a resealable pouch? Would you need a separate air-tight container to store the remainder?

How long would these kachoris stay fresh for?
Chedda’s Kachori – Detailed Review
Price & Packaging
A 170-gram pack is priced at Rs 80/- and has a shelf life of six months. One pack holds approximately 10 kachoris that were identical in shape and size. These were packed in a non-resealable pack.
Main Ingredients
Wheat flour (36%), gram flour (25%), palm oil (29%), ground spices, green gram (5.8%), white sesame (0.8%), green chilly (0.4%), dry mango powder (0.5%), tamarind (0.3%), salt (1%).
While the ingredient list looks fairly clean, we would prefer a better fat source than palm oil.
Appearance & Aroma
Thumbs up for the appearance. No pieces were broken or cracked. Consistency in terms of size and shape was maintained.
This fried snack did not emit an undesirable oily aroma. The tangy notes had our mouths watering.
Taste & Texture
Taste and texture, these store-bought kachoris feel quite similar to the homemade counterpart. The cover had a pleasing crunch but wasn’t too hard to bite into. It had a subtle flakiness, which we liked. The ratio of crust to filling was another plus. There were no empty flour pockets and each bite was filled with the stuffing.
The filling was beautifully seasoned. We liked how the brand maintained a balance between sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The green gram was well-cooked and enhanced the overall taste of this snack.
Pros
- No broken pieces, visual consistency was maintained.
- Crisp with a soft bite, these had the perfect texture.
- The filling was flavored exceptionally.
Cons
- The fat source used could have been better.
Best Suited For
