SUPERB!
Summary
Skippi Ice Pops are such a fun summer treat. Refreshing and full of flavors, we liked Mango, Orange, and Bubblegum the best.

The final bell rang and we rushed to grab a ‘juicy’ ‘chuski’ ‘ice lolly’. Different names, same emotions.
If you’re a 90’s kid, you know these ice pops were THE real treat. Soothing slurps of chilled lollies, these were nothing short of a delight under the harsh summer sun. On season one of Shark Tank India, we were introduced to Skippi Ice Pops. These take us back to the good times, but come with a wide variety of flavors.
Here’s all you must know from our Skippi Ice Pops review.
Our Review Factors
How did we review Skippi Ice Pops? What were the parameters we set?
These are just a fun, mid-meal/post-meal filler. That’s why we did not highlight the ingredients or nutrition quotient.
The primary review-forming parameter was the flavor.
1. Flavor
These are single-ingredient flavored ice pops. How prominent were the flavors? How natural do they taste? Do they work as ice pops?
What about the taste of the sweetener? Does is taste synthetic or artificial?
2. Overall Experience
The quality of packaging, storage instructions, ease of consumption, and more were the sub-parameters here.
3. Other Parameters
The price, packaging, ingredients, shelf life, and more was discussed here.
Skippi Ice Pops Flavors – Detailed Review
Our detailed experience with the six variants has been decoded in the following section. But before we begin, here are a few details you must read about –
What is natural preservative E 234, what is it doing in these ice pops?
This is a naturally-occuring preservative that is vegan. It is called potassium sorbate and is used as an antioxidant and preservative. It is composed of 34 amino acids and is generally considered safe.
What are these additives- E 412, E 407, E 440, and why are they in my ice pops?
E 412 is guar gum that has thickening and stabilizing properties. It is gluten-free.
E 407, carageenan, is used to bind water in a way that it adds texture and structure to the food.
E 440 is pectin, it is found in the skin/peels of fruits and is used as a gelling agent that thickens food.
1. Mango
Our Experience
This comes in a thin, long pouch. The mango variant had a packaging similar to the color of the fruit.
The ice pop tasted fresh and had a robust flavor of mango. This was almost like eating mango sorbet. It was fresh-tasting and the sweetener did not leave any medicinal or industrial aftertaste.
Product Features
There were two units, each holding 70 ml of content. It offers 67 Kcal with 15.4 grams of carbohydrates (coming from 15.4 grams of sugar), and 11.9 mg of sodium.
The packing also states these are devoid of artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, preservatives, and are made using 100% RO water.
This is the same for all variants.
- Nostalgia in a pouch
- Detailed ingredient list
- Spot-on flavor
From Throwback Tuesdays to Flashback Fridays, reel in the nostalgia with this mango-flavored ice pop.
2. Orange
Our Experience
Similar to the above variant, this was devoid of artificial flavors or the undesirable sweetness. It had a refreshing citrusy flavor of oranges. These factors made it one of our collective favorites.
- Balanced sweetness
- Natural tasting
- Refreshing, prominent flavor
3. Bubblegum
Our Experience
The sweetness was really well balanced and this had the classic bubblegum flavor. It did not taste weird at all. As kids, we never really tasted ice pops with this flavor, so it was a delightful and thoughtful addition to Skippi’s range.
- Unique flavor
- Rounded sweetness
- Decent amount of calories
If you’re a fan of this iconic flavor, you must try this variant.
4. Lemon
Our Experience
This tasted exactly like street-style nimbu paani but the flavor intensity was milder, which is why this scored slightly lower than the above contenders.
The sweetness was balanced. This is one of the aspects that Skippi has nailed. It had the playful citrusy flavor of lemons.
- Sweetness did not taste overpowering or artificial
- Flavor intensity was slightly weak
Lemon, sugar, and salt- in awe of this combination? You must try this ice pop.
5. Cola
Our Experience
Similar to the other variants we tried, the sweetness did not taste medicinal, nor was it too overpowering. This could have easily been a top favorite, however, that was not the case. The classic cola flavor felt very diluted which brought down the entire experience.
6. Raspberry
Our Experience
Unfortunately, this tasted artificial. The sweetness was synthetic, but balanced. That said, flavor of berries was fresh and not overwhelming.
- Artificial sweetness
