How did we make these noodles?
Following the instructions on the carton to the T, we prepared these noodles in a microwave. For this, we added water up to the mark (425 ml) in the cup followed by the noodle cake and vegetables. This was then microwaved for three minutes. After three minutes, the contents were stirred and it was microwaved again for the same duration.
Once cooked, we added the seasoning, mixed well, and served.
Aroma + Appearance
Before cooking, the noodle cake looked more yellow and comparatively thicker than regular instant noodles.
The lid had a vent which allowed steam to escape as the noodles are being microwaved.
Post-cooking, these noodles had a fresh, seasoning-heavy aroma
Taste + Texture
After cooking, the dehydrated vegetables had rehydrated quite well and developed a soft crunch. The noodles, however, felt overcooked, and the broth had dried up. Thankfully, the noodles were still non-sticky.
Though the seasoning to noodle ratio was apt, there was not a lot of broth left, considering the quantity of noodles. Ramen is characterized by broth and noodles being in equal proportions, if not more.
The flavor was quite good, but a few bites later, it starts getting a tad bit overwhelming. It was fresh, the veggies tasted natural, the seasoning was balanced, plus the innate Korean, black bean flavors were present. Umami, savory and slightly sweet- it was all present prominently.
