Our Review Factors
What are we looking for? A creamy and delicious bite-sized ice cream. The review parameters we set for Havmor Shotties review are :
1. Taste
Flavor of chocolate, sweetness levels, and the fresh milky creaminess were all checked under this parameter.
2. Texture
The creamy mouthfeel of the ice cream, smoothness and crisp snap of the chocolate coating outside or the crunch from the choco-crunch variant were put to test.
3. Overall experience
It’s summer and of course everyone is ordering ice cream and all things cold. Be it from quick commerce portals, buying them off the carts or straight from the booths. Which is why checking how the ice cream arrives to its end user is crucial.
This includes how the product arrived at the HQ, plus the packaging and pricing was checked.
Havmor Shotties Flavors – Detailed Review
We ordered Havmor Shotties on two different occasions from a quick commerce portal as the first batch that had arrived was completely melted and refroze into a flat puddle. Unfortunately, the second batch that we ordered was completely melted too.
Even though we immediately dunked it into the freezer upon arrival. The images attached below are one of the only pieces intact but these were leaking from a few cracks here and there.
The packaging was unharmed and we have no complaints there, but if you’ve listed ice cream on your portal, please ensure that it reaches the consumer in an edible state or avoid listing such items altogether. Having said that, the delivery personnel was delivering this in an insulated bag with multiple ice gel packs.
The onus also lies with the brand to ensure temperature controlled transportation of the product especially in the scorching heat. This is why we have deducted marks on the overall experience.
For reviewing both the flavors, we conducted a simple taste test. The following segment covers details of our tasting notes, pros and cons of each variant :
1. Dark Chocolate

These shotties come in box packaging. A 180 ml pack, priced at Rs. 90, includes 10 individually packed shotties of 18 ml each. The product has a shelf life of one year.
A single shottie provides around 53.5 kcal of energy.

Our Experience
Starting with the packaging, the outer box was well packed and the shotties were individually wrapped. But unfortunately out of the 10 shotties only 1 to 2 were in a condition to be relished. The others were completely melted and not consumable.
All in all, though the outer box has no issues, the melted ice creams were messy and the sticks coming out was definitely not appreciated.
Visually, these bite-sized ice creams are dome-shaped and ready to pop in your mouth.
The first thing that you can taste is the smoothness and creaminess of milk chocolate. The texture of this ice cream is smooth. The dark chocolate flavor is pleasant. It is not extremely bitter but still carries the rich dark chocolate intensity.

We were really disappointed with the way the ice creams were delivered to us. Many of the shotties were melted while only a few of them were in a solidified state.

2. Choco Crunch

Similar to the above variant, the Choco Crunch shotties are priced at Rs. 90 for a 180 ml pack. The pack has 10 shotties with 18 ml each wrapped individually. The separate packaging makes them a party-friendly dessert option. The shelf life is also 1 year.
A single serve of shotties contains 54.1 kcal of energy.
The main ingredients are segregated as follows :
- Inner Layer- Ice Cream (71%) : Added Water, Sugar, Milk Solids, Cocoa Solids (4.3%),Emulsifier (INS 471) and Stabilizers (INS 412, INS 407, INS 410), Artificial (Vanilla) Flavoring Substances, and Synthetic Food Colors (INS 110, INS 102, INS 122, INS 133).

Our Experience
While the individual packaging and outer box is what we appreciate, the melted state of the ice cream made it a messy experience, and to add to that the ice cream sticks were loose too.
The Choco Crunch variant offers a milkier and sweeter chocolate ice cream experience. The dome of this ice cream has crunchy bits of chocolate that add an interesting textural contrast. Ideally, the crunchy bits of chocolate should carry a remarkable crunch, however the same was not the case here.
The bits of chocolate had softened slightly which resulted in a less pronounced texture.

Buy Now Or Never?
Our experience with Havmor Shotties could have been a splendid one if not for the melted ice creams. These are smooth and creamy with a wonderful dark/milk chocolate flavor. We liked the snap of the chocolate coating outside. If only these weren’t so unsalvageable, these would have been a hit.
Nevertheless, these still get a good rating on Mishry’s taste and texture scale (only going by ones that were still intact).
