Since their introduction in India, Lotus Biscoff biscuits have caused quite a sensation! The popular biscuit brand has expanded its product line to include three exciting flavors of cream-filled sandwich biscuits: Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, and Biscoff Cream. We tested the Biscoff Cream variant to evaluate its taste, texture, pricing, and packaging.

What are we looking for? We are looking for well-baked, crisp biscuits with a delightful and creamy filling and the signature caramel-cinnamon notes. 

The parameters we set for our Lotus Biscoff Cream Biscuits review are:

1. Taste 

We focused on two main components – the flavor of the biscuits and the cream filling. How is the overall sweetness, and the prominence of cinnamon. 

2. Texture 

To rate the texture of these biscuits, we examined the following points: 

• Is the ratio of the cream filling to the biscuits appropriate?
• Are these biscuits well-baked?
• Does the biscuit feel crumbly? 
• How was the overall bite?

We also noted information on the price, packaging and shelf life.

Product Price + Packaging 

These biscuits are packed in a standard red and white pack. There is no tray inside the pack that holds the biscuits. The price of these biscuits with 110 gm net weight (holding 11 biscuits) is Rs. 199. That means the cost per biscuit comes to around Rs. 18. Definitely not very pocket friendly.

The shelf life of these biscuits is 12 months.

Key Ingredients Used 

The key ingredients used are –

• a. Biscoff (72%) – Wheat flour, Sugar, Non hydrogenated vegetable oil (palm, rapeseed), candy sugar syrup, raising agent (sodium hydrogen carbonate (INS500ii)), soy flour, salt, and cinnamon.
• b. Biscoff cream (28%) – Original caramelized biscuits (wheat flour, sugar, non hydrogenated vegetable oils (palm, rapeseed), candy sugar syrup, raising agent (sodium hydrogen carbonate (INS500 (ii)), soy flour, salt, cinnamon0, non-hydrogenated palm oil, sugar, emulsifier (soy lecithin (INS322)

Also note : Food additives are sourced from plant and synthetic origin.

Candy Sugar Syrup – Made from beet sugar, candy sugar syrup is the result of the caramelization process of sugar beets. The color of the candy sugar syrup ranges anywhere from light amber to dark brown. This factor is dependent upon the level of caramelization. 

Candy sugar syrup is quite commonly used in Belgian beers like Dubbel, Tripel, and some Abbey ales.

Our Experience

Flavor-wise, the sweetness takes the center stage which is deepened by caramel-like rich sweet notes. The delightful presence of cinnamon in the background adds a nice and inviting warmth. The cream filling is sweet and has a touch of cinnamon flavor.

This is an ADDICTIVELY tasty cream biscuit wherein despite the higher than average sweetness, the addition of salt keeps everything balanced. 

The texture of these biscuits hits the bullseye! Crisp, well-baked and snappy – the outer biscuit is baked to perfection. Talking about the cream filling, it is soft, smooth and melts in the mouth.

Priced at around 18 rupees per biscuit, these undoubtedly fall in the premium biscuit range which might not be pocket-friendly for everyone.

In conclusion, Lotus Biscoff – Biscoff Cream Biscuits might be overpriced but these are DEFINITELY worth the money spent!
