Our Experience
Aroma + Appearance
This chocolate hazelnut spread has a dark brown color. It releases a buttery aroma with delightful notes of decadent chocolate and hazelnut.
Consistency-wise, this spread is quite smooth and creamy. Spreading this on a slice of bread is effortless and breezy. Talking about the taste, the sweetness level is perfectly balanced as one would expect from a sugar-loaded spread. The harmony between hazelnut and chocolate flavor is very well maintained. The best part? This does not feel greasy on the palate compared to how other low-quality spreads might taste.
Can this Chocolate Spread Hazelnut by Amul replace Nutella?
While definitely not identical in taste, Amul’s Hazelnut spread maintains a nice balance between hazelnuts and chocolate. Amul has a slightly different approach than Nutella. This is slightly more buttery than Nutella considering the use of butter oil in place of palm oil seen in the latter. We can conclude that in a blind taste test, no child will be able to notice any difference between this spread and Nutella.
This has a creamy, easy to spread texture and leaves no oily taste on your palate. Lastly, do note that this still has sugar and is not a healthy alternative.
