Mishry Rating
GOOD!
Summary
Amul Kool Milk beverages taste fresh and showcase natural flavors of the flavoring agents. However, these are a little too sweet, but refreshing nonetheless.
Water must be iced. Chilled cubes of fruits are the best snacks. Hot tea and coffee are replaced by tall glasses of cool milkshakes. You know summers have arrived when the beverages need switching.
Speaking of milkshakes, they are equally as easy to prepare as they are to mess up. Certain times, even packaged milkshakes by reputed brands taste undesirable. Fortunately for us, during our Amul Kool Milk review, we had no such experience.
Badam, Kesar, Elaichi – can you guess our favourite?
Our Review Factors
What were the factors we looked for when reviewing Amul Kool Milk?
Flavor and consistency were factors that led this review. In addition to these, we also considered the price, packaging, appearance, etc.
1. Flavor
Under this parameter, we did not just gauge how prominent the flavor of the star ingredient was (kesar, elaichi, badam). Did it taste natural or industrial, like synthetic flavors were added?
We looked at how balanced the sweetness was, the freshness, other ingredients in the background, or something lending an aftertaste.
2. Consistency
Were these milkshakes creamy and milky? Or did they have a thinner, watered-down consistency?
Was the consistency even throughout? Did it have bits of nuts or dry fruits? Any residue settling at the bottom?
3. Other Parameters
The price, packaging, shelf life were noted too.
Amul Kool Milk Flavours – Detailed Review
The following section holds our experience with the three Amul Kool Milk variants.
1. Kesar
Our Experience
When saffron strands are mixed in milk, it yields a pleasing yellow hue. This milk beverage had a similar appearance. With a fresh, milky aroma, the consistency here matched that of toned milk. It was neither too creamy nor too watery.
In terms of taste, the complex sweet and floral flavors of saffron were present, but were delicate. If poor-quality saffron is added, it develops a metallic-tasting dish/beverage. That was not the case here as added flavor has been used. The sweetness was slightly higher but not overwhelming to the point that it takes over other flavors. Best of all, there was no synthetic aftertaste.

2. Elaichi
Our Experience
The natural sweet flavors of cardamom were captured really well in this milk. It was not overpowering but was refreshing. Just like the above variant, the sweetness was a bit on the higher side, but we are not complaining. The consistency was even throughout and it didn’t feel heavy or too watery. As for appearance, it had a pista green or pastel green shade. The camphoraceous aroma of cardamom was inviting.

3. Badam
Our Experience
With a milky aroma and beige appearance, this was one variant liked by all on the review panel. The consistency was similar to the above two variants, light and like that of toned milk. This had a subtle nuttiness like almonds do with a noticeably higher sugar content. But the overall taste was refreshing.
