Quick Comparison of Chocolate Milkshake Brands
Our Review Factors
What are we looking for? We are looking for the tastiest chocolate shake with a well rounded chocolate flavor and sweetness. Yes, consistency and mouthfeel are prominent parameters but we weren’t looking for a thick café-style milkshake. Having said that, these shouldn’t be watery either. The milkshakes should be creamy and have a milky consistency. Although ingredients and nutrition weren’t primary deciding factors, a clean list will definitely help push the brand towards the top position.
Following are the parameters we set for this best chocolate milkshake review-
1. Taste
Are the chocolate flavors and sweetness in sync? Or does one overpower the other? Does the milkshake taste fresh? Was there a stale aftertaste, like that of milk gone bad? Did the sweetness taste artificial or synthetic? Was the flavor of chocolate appetizing or industrial?
2. Consistency And Mouthfeel
Was the milkshake thick and creamy? Did it have a smooth texture or was it grainy? Watered down? Was the consistency even throughout? Does it have a smooth, creamy mouthfeel.
Which brand had the upper hand here?
3. Other Parameters
- Nutri Label – The type of milk and sweetener used were key sub-parameters. Does one serving fulfill the daily requirement of calcium and other minerals, vitamins? Is the sugar content balanced or too high? What about calories and macronutrients?
- Price – Is the milkshake priced competitively?
- Packaging – Travel friendly? Tetra pack or bottle? Does it come with a straw?

2. Cavins Chocolate Milkshake
Our Experience
While Epigamia was the best-tasting contender, Cavins Chocolate Milkshake had the most desirable consistency. This was not the thickest, but it was the smoothest and richest of all the seven. Primarily, it was the creamy mouthfeel that had Cavins scoring 4 on 5 Mishrys.
Taste-wise, although we liked the balanced sweetness, the flavor of chocolate felt artificial. This also transferred into the aftertaste which brought down the experience.

3. Britannia Winkin Cow Chocolate Thick Milkshake
Our Experience
Providing complete justice to the tag, this was one of the two thickest chocolate milkshakes we reviewed. The consistency was smooth, there were no lumps or graininess. That being said, it was not the most decadent experience as the flavor profile was dominant on milkiness than the flavor of chocolate. The sugar added was way more than required, leading to an overly sweet milkshake.

4. Dark Fantasy Chocolate Shake
Our Experience
The flavor of Sunfeast Dark Fantasy Chocolate Shake was contrasting. It had an intense aroma and flavor of dark chocolate. However, the sweetness was a tad bit over the top. 5. Hershey’s Chocolate Flavour Milkshake
Our Experience
If we had to describe this milkshake in a word, it would be ‘mediocre’. Although this is a thick milkshake with a creamy mouthfeel, the flavor of chocolate isn’t as fresh or bold as our winner. It wasn’t too bad, neither was it great. The sweetness was much higher than average. Another drawback was its synthetic smell of cocoa.

6. Mother Dairy Chocolate Milkshake
Our Experience
This didn’t work for us because of two things – overbearing sweetness and the industrial flavor of chocolate.
The consistency is like a rich, semi-thick milkshake with a creamy mouthfeel. The aroma was a mix of milky and chocolatey notes. However, the flavor of chocolate felt too industrial, despite containing the highest proportion of chocolate (4%) among all contenders. Overall, this was average.
