In India, summers are better known as the ‘mango season’ and almost nothing comes close to that rush of flavor you feel with the first bite of a juicy mango at the beginning of each summer. Vacations days and petis of mangoes will always ALWAYS feel too few.
In a marketplace full of yogurt brands, we picked six popular ones in mango flavor including – Epigamia Greek, Epigamia Fruit Yogurt, Nestlé, RuFil, Milky Mist, and Mother Dairy. After testing them for taste, texture and their nutri values we chose Epigamia’s Greek (Top Pick) as one of the best mango yogurt brands in India. The creaminess, flavor and ingredient list is the best amongst all the contenders.

Our Review Factors
How did we find the best mango yogurt brand? What were the parameters we set?
In addition to the taste and texture, we scanned the ingredient list and nutrition labels meticulously. More details are explained in the following section.
1. Taste
Sweetness and freshness were the key sub-parameters here. Did the sweetness taste natural or artificial? Was the flavor of the fruit prominent? The yogurt, was it fresh-tasting with just a hint of sourness? How was the balance between the flavor of the fruit and yogurt?
2. Texture
Smooth, creamy and lump-free is the texture we were looking for.
Often times, packaged yogurt can develop a layer of water at the top, have a thinner consistency in the middle, with a dense layer of fat right at the bottom. This is undesirable. The brand that showed an even consistency with creamy mouthfuls throughout was…
3. Nutrition Quotient
Under this parameter, we scanned the ingredient list and nutrition label to check the quality and quantity of ingredients used. Certain aspects we looked at were- the fruit content, grams of sugar per serve, the type of mango used, what kind of live culture bacteria has been added, have additives been used in the making?
4. Other Parameters
Here, the non-tasting parameters like price, packaging, shelf life were recorded.
Mango Yogurt Brands – Detailed Review
The testing process, our experience with each brand, and more details are mentioned in the following section.
1. Epigamia Alphonso Mango Greek Yogurt – Mishry Top Pick
Why is Epigamia’s Greek Mango Yogurt Our Top Pick?
Epigamia Greek Yogurt secured the title of our Top Pick as it had the BEST texture. Rich, creamy, and smooth, there were tiny bits of mangoes in this cup. Coming to the flavor, this yogurt had a fresh, natural taste with a well-balanced sweetness. We could taste the mangoes and it was close to the flavor of Alphonso mangoes, as mentioned on the ingredient list. There was nothing off-putting, thumbs up for that.
Nutritionally, this has the highest fruit content with a substantial protein content. There is only 5 grams of added sugar per serve, which is not too bad. This fulfils 10% of the calcium RDA and has no added flavors or colors.
Product Details
Greek yogurt (pasteurized double toned milk, milk solids, stabilizer (pectin INS440), permitted lactic acid cultures), Processed alphonso mango pulp (**Alphonso mango puree, sugar syrup), Total fruit content: **14% are the main ingredients. A cup holding 85 grams is priced at Rs 55/- with a 17-day shelf life.
- THICK and CREAMY

- Balanced sweetness

- Decently priced
- No additives, yay!
- Highest fruit content
From your yogurt bowls to mid-meal snacks, even a breakfast on-the-go, Epigamia Greek Yogurt Alphonso Mango gets the green light from us.
2. Epigamia Alphonso Mango Fruit Yogurt
Our Experience
Before diving into this, we’d like to highlight some key differences between Greek yogurt and regular yogurt.
While both are rich in probiotics, Greek yogurt is derived by straining out the extra whey which lends a creamier texture. This also leads to Greek yogurt having almost thrice as much protein as regular (unflavored variants).
But if you want something lower in fat and overall calories, regular yogurt may be better suited for you.
Epigamia Alphonso Mango Fruit Yogurt had a comparatively lighter tinge of the mango-like amber, than that of the Greek counterpart by the brand. The consistency was slightly thinner but we got the same mango bits as in the above variant. It was smooth and creamy.
The regular mango yogurt by Epigamia was less creamier and sweeter. The natural flavor of yogurt was more than the flavor of the fruit.
That said, the regular variant is lower in fat, calories, protein, and calcium as compared to Greek.

- Fresh tasting
- Clean ingredients
- No preservatives or artificial sweeteners
- Detailed ingredient list
- 14% fruit content
- Not as creamy
- In comparison, it is not as fresh-tasting as our Top Pick.
If you’re preparing nice cream (banana-based ice cream) at home and need a mango-flavored base, this could be it.
3. Nestle A+ Greekyo Greek Mango Yoghurt
Why Did Nestle’s Yogurt Not Win?
In terms of appearance and aroma, Nestlé was almost identical to our runner up. It had the similar saffron amber appearance with larger chunks of mangoes. But this thick, creamy yogurt had a mildly artificial aroma and flavor. It had the fruity sweetness with the subtle sourness of yogurt, but both flavors were higher than appreciable- making this taste slightly artificial.
This is sweetened with Stevia which makes up for 90% of the total sweetener used. It contains added color (160B) and nature-identical flavoring substances. The fruit content is second lowest, just 4.5%.
Product Details
Toned milk, Milk solids, Sugar, Mango (4.5%), Water, Mango concentrate, Mango pulp, Nature-identical flavouring Substances, Sweetener (960), Active cultures (including Lactobacillus lactis) and Colour (160b) are the ingredients used. This also contains Steviol Glycoside. 90 grams of this mango yogurt is priced at Rs 55/- with a 16-day shelf life.
- Decent texture
- Bits of mangoes
- Balanced sweetness
- One of the highest calcium content among all six
- Smells slightly artificial
- Low fruit content
- Contains additives
Trying to curb a dessert craving minus the guilt? You could give Nestlé mango yogurt a go.
4. RuFil Mango Yogurt
Our Experience
The texture of RuFil yogurt was close to that of shrikhand, in regards to the thickness. That being said, it had an unmissable graininess which brings down the experience a bit.
The taste was pretty good, it had the sweet but tarty flavor of totapuri mango with the sourness similar to that of homemade curd, and a well-rounded sweetness. There were no synthetic aftertastes.
Sugar is not the only sweetener used. They have also added some apple juice concentrate. With 6% fruit content, this offers more protein (5.2 grams) than fat (2.2 grams) in under 100 Kcal. It contains additives like stabilizers, antioxidants, acidity regulators, and nature-identical flavors.
Product Details
A 90-gram cup is priced at Rs 45/- and has a shelf life of 15 days.
The ingredients used are Yogurt (Pasteurized Double Toned Milk, Milk Solids, Starter Cultures), Mango Fruit Content (6%) from fruit preparation (Totapuri Mango Concentrate, Totapuri Mango Dices, Sugar, Water, Apple Juice Concentrate, Stabilizer (INS 1422, 440) Antioxidant (INS 300). Acidity Regulator (INS 330), Colouring Concentrate Yellow Carrot)
5. Milky Mist Mango Fruit Yogurt
Our Experience
There wasn’t anything bad per se about Milky Mist Fruit Yogurt. But the flavor of mango was barely there. It tasted more like regular dahi than flavored yogurt. The sweetness was rounded, but we missed the flavor of the fruit.
Just like flavor, the fruit was missing from the color of this yogurt too.
This has 8% fruit content with stabilizers, preservatives, and added flavors.
Product Details
A 100-gram cup of Milky Mist Yogurt is priced at Rs 60/- with a shelf life of 38 days. The ingredients are Milk, Milk solids, Sugar, Active lactic culture, Stabilizing agent (440), Fruit content (8%) from mango preparation (Mango pulp and mango pieces, Sugar, Water, Stabiliser (INS440), Acidifying agent (INS330), Class II preservative (INS202)
It also contains permitted synthetic food color (INS102, INS110) And Added Flavors (Natural- Identical flavoring substances – Mango)
6. Mother Dairy Mango Fruit Yoghurt
Our Experience
If we froze this cup of yogurt, one could mistake it for ice cream because it is that heavy on sweetness. The mango flavor does not taste as fresh and the alphonso-like color looks too artificial. This is fairly runny, it lacks structure.
Mother Dairy Yogurt is the only contender where the details on the culture/bacteria were not mentioned. This offers the highest calcium content per serve, but it also has the most calories, the highest added sugar content, and fat.
Product Details
One 100-gram cup is priced at Rs 35/- with a shelf life of 15 days. The ingredients are Milk, Sugar (12%). Milk Solids, Mango Pulp (4%), Active lactic culture, Thickening Agent (INS 1442), Dried Citrus Pulp, Nature-Identical substances and Synthetic Food Colours (INS 102, INS110)
Our Top Picks & Recommendations
Without a doubt, we recommend you to try Epigamia Greek Yogurt in Alphonso Mango. The rich creamy texture, its flavor and sweetness make it a healthier alternative to a calorie-loaded dessert. It offers over 5 grams of protein per serve, which is impressive.
Epigamia Fruit Yogurt is also recommended if you prefer something lower in calories, with a similar taste and texture.
