What do we anticipate? We are seeking an authentic, luscious, and creamy butter masala gravy with vibrant, fresh flavors. Additionally, it should be a time-efficient option.

CURRYiT Instant Dhaba Style Butter Masala Curry Paste – Detailed Review
Product Details
Right at the top of the pack, the product says ‘mom approved’. It has a pouch packaging and the curry paste is sealed in a pouch inside. The price of a 250 gm is Rs. 120 which is sufficient for 2 people. It has a 12 month shelf life.
Main Ingredients
The list of ingredients used here looks pretty clean. Thumbs up!
Tomatoes, Onions, Olive oil, Butter, Cashew nuts, Melon seeds, Ginger, Garlic, Salt, Sugar, Desi ghee (2.4%), coriander powder Kashmiri mirch, Poppy seeds, Red chilli powder, and Fenugreek leaves is what goes in the making of the curry paste.
Review Procedure
We mixed the full pack of curry paste with roughly 200 gm of paneer and 120 ml of water (as directed on the package). Later, we cooked it till the desired consistency was achieved.
The pack also mentions to adjust the salt and consistency if required. However, we did not feel the need for any tweaking/alterations.
You can also add a non-vegetarian protein such as chicken to the curry paste.
Appearance
The curry paste has an orange like color.
Flavor + Consistency
The gravy was neither too thick nor too watery/flowy in consistency.
In terms of flavor, it isn’t a bouquet of flavors. It is tasty, but it lacks the richness and creaminess of a true dhaba-style butter masala.
Going a bit deeper, the tanginess of the tomato and the sugar level were slightly higher than normal. Furthermore, the tomato flavor wasn’t as fresh.
Pro tip: To reduce the tanginess, try adding some malai or cream.
Convenience
This sure is a high on convenience meal as it cuts down on the prep time and the mess involved in collecting multiple ingredients.
The clear and precise instructions are appreciated.
Pros
- Time efficient
- Low effort
- Detailed and clear-cut instructions.
Cons
- Lacks the rich creaminess.
- The tanginess and sugar level was slightly high.
- The tomato lacks freshness.
