How did we review Doritos Sizzlin Hot Nachos? What parameters did we base our review on?

‘Sizzlin Hot’ how well does the flavor profile do justice to this tag? Is the spice, the chilli kick too overwhelming? Or is it just right, making these nachos totally delicious? What about their elements on the flavor profile, are they balanced? Could we taste the classic cheese flavor? Or was it overshadowed by the spice?

Going hand in hand with the flavor tag, these nachos are offered in a red pack. One pack holds 78 grams of product and is priced at ₹ 50/-. This has a shelf life of six months.

These nachos are made using  Corn (77%), Edible vegetable oil (palm oil), Seasoning (Maltodextrin, Spices and condiments, Sugar, iodised salt, Milk solids, Acidity regulators (330), Cheese, Dehydrated beetroot, Yeast extract, Nature identical flavoring substances, Anticaking agent (551), Flavor enhancer (627, 631)), Color (124)

Aroma + Appearance 

These are thin, almost even-looking, triangular-shapes pieces of nachos. They had an obviously unnatural looking deep amber hue. In addition to the spice, we observed notes of cheese in the aroma. Each nacho was dusted generously with the powder.

Taste + Texture

The texture gets a thumbs up. These nachos had a great crunch, which spoke of the freshness too. 

PS- with salsa or crushed and added in a burger or wrap- this would elevate your dish. 

Coming to the flavor- these are primarily cheese-flavored nachos. The chilli heat only hits you towards the end. The complex but desirable flavor of cheese paired with chilli was tied together by a subtle tang which was present throughout. 

These nachos are not mildly spiced, neither too overpowering. They aren’t something that would get your eyes watery and nose running, but pairing them with a mild dip/salsa would bring down the spice a bit.
