#FirstImpressions Of Parle’s Milano Minis Chocolate Chip Cookies

Parle’s Milano Minis Chocolate Chip Cookies could be considered the mini version of Parle’s Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was our Top Pick in our recent Best Chocolate Chip Cookies. Milano Minis are delicious, crunchy and come loaded with tiny chocolate chips. The cookies are buttery, soft and crunchy making every bite flavorful.

Each box of minis can be consumed over days, and it has a tight lid that keeps the moisture away. We didn’t feel the need to transfer the cookies into another box during the course of the trials. We tasted these over a week and once opened the cookies did not get soggy from humidity.

Even though it is an air-tight box, the only thing that is a tad bothersome is that it seems unable to keep the cookies intact. Nobody likes broken cookies, and when they are this small, the broken ‘pieces’ are more like crumbs. Some of the cookies were already broken when we first bought the boxes. This seems less to do with the texture of the cookies and more with the empty space in the box. Meaning the cookies push, jostle against each other during transportation or transit, making them a bit crumbly.

The unbroken cookies are yummy, and just for the taste, we’d try these again.

How about making some delicious mixed chocolate cookies at home? Here’s the recipe!

Mixed Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 300 Grams Flour
  • 200 Grams Butter
  • 100 Grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 50 Grams White chocolate
  • 50 Grams Milk chocolate
  • 100 Grams Dark chocolate
  1. Start by creaming softened butter and sugar together until it is mixed in well.

  2. Add sieved flour on top and begin to mix it into the creamed butter and sugar mix by slowly rubbing it in with just your fingers.

  3. Once the mixture gains a sand like texture, add the egg yolk. Knead the mix for no more than 3-5 minutes just so it holds together. Sprinkle a few drops of water if necessary.

  4. Add the chocolate chips into the dough and mix well. For best results use slightly larger chocolate chunks instead of chocolate chips by roughly chopping up chocolate bars.

  5. Flatten the dough on a plate, cover it and let it rest in a refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

  6. Once rested, make medium sized roundels of the dough and place them on non-stick baking trays or silicone mats.

  7. Due to the use of granulated sugar the cookies will spread during baking so make sure to leave enough space between each roundel.

  8. Bake the cookies at 190°C for about 8-12 minutes. Let the  cookies cool down before you serve them.
