Punjabi masala papad is usually said to be on the spicier side. Taste-wise, we loved the overall flavor of this papad. The salt levels are well balanced. There is a prominent flavor of black pepper which we could feel in every bite.
There is also a subtle flavor of hing. We prepared the papad using the 3 ways as mentioned – roasting, deep-frying and in the microwave. We noticed a more spicy and bold taste of black pepper when we roasted and microwaved the papad. After deep-frying, the peppery heat subsided a bit.

The Haldiram Punjabi Masala Papad are thin and have a perfect round, even shape. The pieces of crushed black pepper are clearly noticeable on the papad.

As we opened the pack, we got a whiff of strong black pepper aroma. Also, there was a noticeable aroma of the urad dal.

Crispness is the most crucial parameter when it comes to reviewing any papad. The level of crispness can make or break the entire experience.

Haldiram’s papads have a uniform shape and are perfectly round. The pieces of crushed black pepper are noticeable on the papad.
We cooked the papad using all the 3 ways. For the microwave method, we brushed some oil on the papad and cooked it for about 45 seconds.
Secondly, we roasted the papad on an open flame (low) and flipped it with a tong until both the sides turned crisp. Lastly, for deep-frying we heated a sufficient amount of oil and fried it on medium heat until done.
These papads have a delicious taste. The presence of black pepper in every bite is quite prominent with subtle undertones of hing. The salt levels are well balanced.
