Mishry Rating
Summary
Masterchow Instant Chowmein Cup Noodles packs the right flavors with a deliciously crisp peanut-garlic topping. However, it was the mushy noodles that brought down the overall rating.
It’s quick. It’s convenient. It’s cup noodles that we are talking about! A common complaint with cup noodles is the dilution of flavor because of the extra soup and masala residue at the end. MaterChow, a brand that offers flavorful cooking sauces, launched its version of instant noodles that aim to put an end to the problem of flavorless, watery noodles.
From the two variants they offer, we opted for Chowmein in our MasterChow Instant ChowMein Cup Noodles. From instructions to ingredients, and everything in between- this review has it all.

Our Review Factors
How did we review MasterChow Instant ChowMein Cup Noodles? What parameters did we set? Flavors, textures, ingredients, and packaging were our primary review-forming aspects. More details on the same are explained in the following section.
1. Taste
The sauce is essentially what makes chowmein so appetizing. The sauce should have spicy, warming flavors. Additionally, the taste of noodles and the veggies (freshness) were also assessed.
2. Texture
The hero element, i.e. noodles, have been advertised as bouncy with a bite. After 3 minutes of ‘cooking’, how was the texture of the noodles? Do they retain a firm bite or are these mushy and squidgy?
We checked how well did the vegetables and noodle rehydrate, how crunchy the toppings are and if all of these textures work well.
The sauce to noodle ratio was also an important aspect of the review which considerably altered the overall experience.
3. Trivial Parameters
The price, packaging, ingredients, and shelf life were few aspects we scanned and mentioned in our review.
MasterChow Instant Cup Noodles – Detailed Review
Price + Packaging
Inside a red-yellow cup, we found a noodle cake, three different sachets holding the sauce, the dehydrated veggies, and the toppings. It also had a fork inside. The lid on this cup had holes which allowed drainage of excess water. Quite thoughtful and aims to solve the problem of water cup noodles.
100 grams of this is priced at Rs 65/- with a shelf life of eight months.
Main Ingredients
There were four components and the ingredients are as follows-
- Ingredients for Noodles: Whole Wheat Flour, Refined Wheat Flour, Water, Salt
- Ingredients for Flavour Sauce Pouch: Garlic Paste, Chilli Paste, Spices I+G, Vinegar, Soy Sauce, Water, Sugar, Soybean Oil, Ginger Powder, Garlic Powder
- Vegetable Pouch: Carrot, Cabbage, Spring Onion
- Toppings Pouch: Fried Garlic, Peanuts
How did we make this?
As instructed, we added noodles and the veggies along with boiling water. We let this sit for three minutes and drained all excess water. After this, we added the sauce, mixed it well, added the toppings, and it was time for the taste test.
Aroma + Appearance
The most prominent aroma was that of the sauce. Heavy on garlic and chilli, the sauce had us drooling. As for appearance, the noodles were not as white as refined wheat flour noodles, they had a brown tinge. The veggies were a mix of carrot, cabbage, and spring onion bits, while the topping was peanut and fried garlic bits. The sauce was a deep maroon-brown.
Taste + Texture
With a thick consistency, the sauce was fairly easy to mix in with the noodles. The noodles had developed an overcooked, mushy bite. This was a disappointment as we followed all instructions to the T. The only saving grace here was the topping and the flavor of the sauce. A mix of crisp peanut and garlic bits added some much needed variation to an otherwise squidgy cup of noodles.
As for taste, the veggies retained their natural flavors, but lacked freshness. The sauce had a beautiful flavor- chilli with garlic, it had that heat with a subtle sweet and sour mix. However, the texture of the noodles lowered this experience, hence such a rating on Mishry scale.

Final Words
And that’s a wrap on our experience with MasterChow Instant Chowmein Cup Noodles. Everything but one worked with this product. The packaging, the flavors (sauce), the toppings- impressive. However, the texture of the noodles had a significant impact (as that is the base), and it led to an unappetizing cup of noodles.
