Nutralite Eggless Mayonnaise – Our Review Factors
Our reviews are always conducted from a consumer’s point of view. Whether it is taste, convenience, or economic value, all parameters add up to a fair and unbiased review.
1. Packaging
Nutralite’s range of mayonnaise comes packed in PET jars with a reclosable lid.
2. Main Ingredients
Eggless (vegan) mayonnaise uses cashew nuts or soy for the creamy base. The common ingredients among the three Nutralite mayo variants we tried are Edible Vegetable Oil (Refined Sunflower Oil), Water, Sugar, Liquid Glucose, Seasoning, Soy Powder, and Thickeners.
The seasoning mix differs between variants.
3. Taste
While Achaari and Tandoori promise more desi flavors, cheesy garlic had us drooling too. Do the spreads justify their tags?
4. Flavour
As the names suggest, Tandoori should have a smoky, savory flavor whereas Achaari would showcase prominent flavors of carom seeds, nigella seeds, some peppery heat among others from its varied flavor profile.
The balance of cheese to garlic in the third variant was also tested in this review.
5. Aroma
Could we make out the flavors by their aromas? Or were they indistinguishable?
6. Consistency
A key parameter for reviewing spreads is consistency and spreadability. Are these mayo spreads by Nutralite easy to apply over bread slices?
What about the consistency, rich and creamy or too flowy?
In addition to veggie sandwiches and burgers, can these spreads be used as dips?
7. Nutritional Facts
Mayonnaise is majorly a fat source, and therefore calorie-dense. 1 tbsp (13-15 grams) would provide anywhere between 100-120 Kcal.
Nutralite Mayo offers 75-80 Kcal per 15-gram serve.

1. Tandoori
Visually, this had a deep tangerine appearance and a rich creaminess and spread quite easily. The aroma is very smoky.
Stage one (Tasting) – By itself, this flavored mayonnaise was absolutely delicious! The taste of Tandoori, as we know, is smokey with hits of ginger, garlic, coriander, laced with some peppery heat and garam masala flavors. This blend of flavors was beautifully seen at this stage.
Stage two (Cooking) – Paneer Tikka! For this stage, we used around 100 grams of paneer cubes, some diced capsicum and onions, and a bowl of homemade curd (made with full cream milk) for the marination.
In a large bowl, we mixed the curd and Tandoori mayo until it was a seamless blend. We added the paneer cubes and diced veggies, and let them marinate for around 15 minutes. Once done, in a pan heated with some oil, we sauteed the contents until the sides had browned.
This was then transferred to another bowl where we added some more mayo, tossed it all together, and served hot!
The smokey and creamy flavors hit the mark. That said, the chilli kick could be more intense and we recommend adding some red chilli powder for a well-rounded flavor. We did NOT add any additional seasoning during marinating. A noteworthy fact- the mayo-based marination did not impact the texture of paneer.
Stage three (Dip) – Here, we used the Tandoori flavored mayonnaise as a dip. For this stage, Hara Bhara Kebabs by Safal were served. Bang-on consistency and flavors, the crispy kebabs and this beautifully flavored mayo dip made for a flavorful snack.

Best Suited For
Homemade burgers? Flavored dip for your tikkas? You must try Nutralite Tandoori Eggless mayonnaise.
2. Achaari
As the name suggests, ‘Achaari’ is a combination of pickling spices like fennel, fenugreek, nigella, cumin, and mustard seeds. While fennel, fenugreek, and mustard seeds lend unique blends of sweetness and warmth, nigella brings its pungency, and all are wrapped up by the distinct bitterness of cumin seeds. How well does Nutralite’s Achaari mayo showcase these complex flavors?
The packaging of the product and the pattern of our reviewing process were the same as above.
Stage one – First things first, the overall taste of this mayonnaise is quite good. That said, the only downside was that the ‘Achaari’ flavor we were looking for was not as intense.
As explained above, Achaari flavor is a complex blend of spicy, sweet, tangy, savory flavors. This Achaari-flavored mayonnaise is dominant on the spice. This flavored mayo lacks that lip-smacking chatpata flavor.
Stage two – Similar to stage one, we let the paneer and veggies marinate and cooked them. The minimal chatpata flavors we tasted in stage one had diminished here.
Stage three – This mayonnaise paired quite well with the kebabs. Despite lacking the distinct Achaari flavor, this variant lent a mild tanginess with prominent cumin and fennel flavors.
Features
- Shelf life, net weight, price, and packaging are the same as above.
- Main Ingredients- same as above
Pros
- The effortless spreadability is commendable.
Cons
- The intensity of achaari flavor is very low.
Best Suited For
This may be a good option for kids and those with a low spice tolerance.
3. Cheesy Garlic
Unfortunately, Nutralite Cheesy Garlic mayo did not wow us as it did previously. In 2019, we reviewed this variant and loved it for the distinct blend of garlic and cheese.
During this review, the overall garlic flavor was completely missing. Additionally, the overpowering flavor of cheese tasted artificial, when the mayo was tasted by itself.
We tasted this mayo with a batch of chunky potato wedges and some hara bhara kebabs. The primary flavor was of cheese, but like we observed during the first stage, it felt industrial.
All-in-all, not a great experience.
Features
- Features are the same as above.
Pros
- The cheesy flavors are bold.
Cons
- The garlicky flavors were missing.
- This had an industrial aftertaste.
Our Top Picks & Recommendations
As indicated in the detailed review, we were inclined towards the Tandoori variant from Nutralite Eggless mayonnaise range. Perfectly seasoned and a great balance of flavors, this mayo goes well not just with sandwiches but also potato wedges, paneer cubes, crisp crackers, khakra, and most snacks.
That said, the Achaari mayo would be appreciated by those with a low spice tolerance.
Final Words
Reviewed three, loved one! The Tandoori variant by Nutralite Eggless mayo had our heart. It showcases the ideal ‘tandoori’ flavors and the spot-on consistency makes it even better.
