Our Review Factors
How did we review Pepitos Corn Puff? What were our parameters?
Did we find what we were looking for, in terms of flavors, textures, nutrition values? Are these worth the price?
Details on the review parameters in the following section.
1. Taste
Labelled ‘gourmet’ snacking, we tried these corn puffs to check how bold and prominent the flavors were. Were the cheesy flavors of pizza fresh to taste? Did the masala variant showcase a toothsome blend of seasonings? If yes, were they balanced?
Soy protein has a displeasing taste in general. Was that noticeable here?
2. Texture
On reading ‘lite’, we expected airy, crunchy puffs. How close did these snacks come to this? Did the oil produce greasiness on the fingertips or palate?
3. Nutrition Quotient
Ingredients
We scanned the quality and quantity of ingredients used. We scanned the lists to check if or not additives had been used. This helped us find out the truth of claims.
Caloric Values
Does one pack (140 grams) really offer more than 20 grams of protein? Taking one serve to be 20 grams, does it provide sufficient calories? What about the carb to fat ratio?
4. Other Parameters
Here, non-tasting aspects like the price, packaging, shelf life were taken into account.
Pepitos Corn Puff Flavours – Detailed Review
Our experience with two variants of Pepitos Corn Puff has been shared in the following section.
1. Zingy Pizza
Our Experience
Without a doubt, Zingy Pizza had the upper hand, in terms of flavor. The flavors that you find in a slice of pizza were captured decently in these puffs. Primarily, we could taste a mild herby-cheesy flavor. This was followed by a tangy, pizza sauce-like aftertaste. Fresh and balanced, this was appreciated.
Moving to the texture, these puffs had an addictive crunch. You’d keep going back for seconds. There was no sticky, oily residue, the puffs were well-coated with the seasoning. Best of all, they were light and airy.
Mishry’s take on the nutrition profile of Pepitos Corn Puff
Compared to a 20-gram serving of regularly-consumed Indian snacks like chips or chakli, there is not a vast difference in the total calories. These snacks offer 100-105 Kcal, whereas Pepitos Puffs has 98 Kcal for the same quantity.
In terms of macronutrients, Pepitos Puffs have a lower fat content (2 g), compared to chips/chakli having upto 7 grams. As for carbohydrates and proteins, these are marginally higher in Pepitos Corn Puffs (16 g and 3.4 g, respectively)
So, how does this work?
One gram of fat has nine calories, whereas the same quantity of carbohydrates and proteins have 4 Kcal each. Accordingly, despite having more carbohydrates (5 grams more in a 20-gram serve), Pepitos Puffs have slightly lower calories.

For the calorie conscious, for those who are looking to make snacking healthier, while keeping pizza cravings in check, we recommend Pepitos Corn Puff in Zingy Pizza.
2. Magic Masala
Our Experience
There’s not a lot that we disliked in this variant. However, in a comparative view, Zingy Pizza was far better.
The seasoning was added generously, each puff was coated evenly. They were fresh and crisp. Safe to say, the texture was better than the flavors here.
The spice and salt were balanced, but they weren’t bold. Fairly average, to simply put it.
