With the aim of making our Diwali brighter than the lights, and more lit than fireworks, Zomato Intercity Legends allows for ordering culinary specialties from various parts of our colorfully diverse country. For our Zomato Intercity review, we ordered three iconic local favorites from Kolkata, Jaipur, and Bengaluru.

1. Delivery Experience
Our cravings within the city are taken care of thanks to the many many services, but what about intercity? We either have to wait for a friend to visit and bring us back some famous/iconic stuff or we have to fly out ourselves. Here, the food is flying to us. How different is the ordering process as compared to local orders? How is the food delivered from another city? What is the mode of transport used? Is it efficient?
How were the delicacies packed? Securely or it could have been better? For dishes that need refrigeration – can they endure the long journey?
2. Price
Excluding the base price of the food items, what are the delivery and other charges, if any? Are the delivery charges fixed? Does it seem worth paying this amount?
What are the other charges Zomato levies? Packaging, taxes, others?
Is this a value for money experience?
3. Time
The ETA is 24-48 hours from the time when the order is placed. What was our experience, were the orders delivered within the time frame or later? If you’re ordering it today for a special occasion – what’s the tentative ETA?

1. Baked Rasgulla from Kolkata
The packaging was neat and secure. The fact that there were no leakages was an indicator of the quality of packaging. The baked rasgullas were placed inside an aluminum container that was sealed. This container was placed in a white cardboard box and an external golden box that added the festive element. It was then wrapped in a Zomato Intercity packet.
The timely delivery was another pro. We placed the order on 10th October at 11:30 am and the ETA was 12th October, between 3-6 pm. This was delivered on the 12th at 3 pm.

The original price of the baked rasgulla is Rs 460/- (10 pieces). Adding the delivery charges and taxes, the total bill amount was Rs 591.60/- but we paid Rs 391.60/- as we used a coupon code which allowed us a Rs 200/- off.
2. Pyaaz Kachori from Jaipur
There were four large kachoris in a plastic container that had a reclosable lid and was also sealed with plastic.
This order was placed on the 10th of October at 12 pm and we were promised delivery on the following day between 3-6 pm. It was delivered at 12:20 pm on the 11th.
3. Mysore Pak from Bengaluru
The order was placed on 10th October at 12:05 pm with the app showing estimated delivery on 11th October between 3-6 pm. We received our box of Mysore Pak on 11th October at 12:20 pm.

The food is transported via air. These are then allocated to the respective delivery partners as per the location.
All three samples we received were packed securely and tasted fresh.
2. How much time will it take to deliver the food using Zomato Intercity Legends?
Depending on your delivery location and location from where your order is arriving from, Zomato’s Intercity orders arrive within 24-48 hours.
3. Is the food received from Zomato Intercity safe?
Yes. The food we ordered was delivered safely within the mentioned time frame. The products that needed a colder transportation mode were sent in appropriate gear. All our samples were safe for consumption.
4. Is Zomato Intercity Food Delivery Service costly?
On average, the delivery is around Rs 80/-, plus taxes and the cost of the food. Considering the distance and the mode of delivery, we say this is a value for money service.
5. Can we return the food ordered from Zomato Intercity legends?
No. The food ordered from Zomato Intercity cannot be returned.
6. Is COD available for Zomato Intercity?
No. Cash on delivery is not available for these orders. You can pay online or with your debit/credit card.
