Our Review Factors
What were we expecting from Nestlé Milo cocoa malt milk beverage?
A fresh-tasting milkshake with balanced flavors of malt, chocolate, and sugar, a rich consistency, and an overall decent nutrition profile.
1. Flavor
An undesirable yet common occurrence with packaged milkshakes is a sugar overdose. We were looking for balanced sweetness with the sweet and nutty flavors of malt and decadence of chocolate.
Is the milk used fresh or does it have a stale taste?
2. Consistency
Thick, rich, and creamy or light and toned.

One serving (180 ml) of Milo offers 144 Kcal with 20.5 grams of carbohydrates (of which 14.6 is sugar), 5.2 grams of protein, and 4.5 grams of fat.
We compared this to other packaged chocolate milkshakes and found Milo is marginally lower in calories and sugar content. It also offers a slightly higher amount of protein.
Coming to micronutrients, the calcium and phosphorus content is similar but Milo’s Vitamin B profile is richer.
Consistency
The consistency was fairly decent. Neither was it too thick nor too thin. The milkshake was smooth and light on the palette.
Flavor
First things first, the milk used tasted fresh. There was no underlying sourness or anything indicating that the milk had gone bad. It had the toasted nutty malty taste with a prominent cocoa flavor. The sweetness was balanced, not too overwhelming.
The flavor profile is sure to attract a younger audience.
