Thandais are often associated with the festival of Holi and Maha Shivratri in India. Made using rich ingredients like almonds, saffron, magaz, black pepper, khus-khus and more, this is supposed to be an amalgamation of different flavors.
While we are not comparing the Verka PIO to a freshly made homemade thandai, which has prominent nuttiness and peppery notes, we were looking for a similar reflection.
Though there are no real thandai specific ingredients in this beverage, the flavor of pistachios and cardamom surely reminds you of a chilled glass of thandai. This is not a heavy beverage, but a light milk based drink that can be enjoyed on a hot summer day.
