1. Price
A 150 gram pack of Slurrp farm millet pancake mix banana choco chips variant is priced at Rs. 149/-.
2. Packaging
The Slurrp Farm Pancake Mix comes in a bright yellow colored pouch pack. On top of it are animated animal characters on the pack to make it attractive for the kids.
3. Nutri Label
100 grams of the pancake mix provides 399 kcal of energy.
4. Dry inspection
When we opened the pack, we could see a lot of oat flakes and chocolate chips. The dry mix has a dominant vanilla aroma.
5. How to make it
Here is the Slurrp farm pancake recipe as per packet instructions.
Step 1: Mix pancake mix and the other ingredients
Mix half packet of pancake mix, one egg, and a half cup of milk into a smooth batter. The egg can be replaced with two tablespoons of melted butter for the eggless/vegetarian version.
Step 2: Make pancake on the flat non-stick pan
Warm a flat non-stick pan to medium heat. Add butter to the pan. Pour the batter onto the heated pan and cook well on both sides.
Serving suggestion
Serve the pancakes with a dollop of butter, honey, fresh fruits (banana and strawberry), nuts, peanut butter, apple puree.
6. How we made it
Ours is an altered Slurrp farm pancake recipe. We used a non-stick pan on induction for preparing the pancakes. Following the instructions mentioned on the packet, the batter turned out to be too runny. The consistency was as thin as a crepe batter, so we modified the recipe.
We used half a packet of pancake mix with one egg and an only one-eighth cup of milk. With the modified recipe, the pancakes turned out quite fluffy. Our observation is that we had to use butter twice for one pancake, once after warming the pan and secondly after flipping the pancake. We cooked pancakes with both salted and unsalted butter. We recommend using unsalted butter so that the salty taste of the butter is not a hindrance to the delicate sweetness of the pancake.
The cooking time was 2-3 mins per pancake. The pancakes also turned out to be fluffier with the lid closed for a minute while cooking. We first tasted the pancakes without any topping, and then with slices of banana and honey as well. The packet yields 7-8 small-sized pancakes.
7. Texture
The texture with the modified recipe yielded fluffy pancakes. The sweetness of the pancakes was balanced, without adding any sweeteners.
8. Taste
We were skeptical in the beginning as it was a millet-based pancake mix, however, the taste and texture were much better than our expectations.
The pancakes were true to their flavor of banana choc-chip. The flavors also feel natural and not artificial at all. The slightly coarse texture of the pancake indicates the presence of millet flour. Choco-chips also turned softer after the pancakes were ready. The number of chocolate chips seems apt.
If you are fond of a pancake loaded with chocolate chips, you may want to add some more of your own.

Serving suggestion
Serve the pancakes with a dollop of butter, honey, fresh fruits (banana and strawberry), nuts, peanut butter, apple puree.
6. How we made it
We used a non-stick pan on induction for preparing the pancakes. We made both egg and eggless versions of these pancakes.
First, we tried the Slurrp Farm Chocolate Millet Pancake recipe with eggs. We used only 1/8th cup of milk for half a packet (75g) to prepare the batter. And for the one without the egg, we followed the instructions mentioned to prepare the batter. Both the versions of pancakes turned out to be fluffy. The pancakes need a lot of butter while getting cooked, possibly due to the presence of high-fiber flours. We used unsalted butter for these versions.
All the pancakes were cooked at a very low temperature. It took us approx 3 minutes to cook one pancake. We covered the pan with a lid for a minute and lowered the heat which helped in getting well-cooked and fluffier pancakes.
7. Texture
The texture of the chocolate pancake was a bit more grainy and coarse, as compared to its banana chocolate chip variant. This is due to the presence of ragi flour in it. The taste of the eggless version was better than the one with egg. The pancakes are more edible when they are warm. Texture-wise the pancakes are pleasantly soft and airy. These were not dense, or tough which could lead to kids avoiding them.
8. Taste
We tasted the pancakes with and without toppings. Although the ingredients have sugar and jaggery in them, we couldn’t taste the presence of a sweetener. These pancakes are best served with a sweet chocolate spread, honey, or strawberry/chocolate syrup. There was no taste of cinnamon in the pancakes.

Final Words
Pancakes, usually made using maida or refined wheat flour, don’t really hold a lot of nutritive value. This is where Slurrp Farms Pancake Mix enters. Made using healthier flours like ragi and oats, these pancake mixes can prove to be excellent breakfast mixes for little ones and even adults.
Throughout our Slurrp pancake mix review, we noticed that consistency wise, if you like your pancakes to be thinner, almost crepe like, follow the instructions given on the pack. But if you are looking for fluffy American-style pancakes, then you will have to adjust the quantity of milk and butter. Overall, the product tasted really good, especially since these are made using ingredients that are not traditionally used for making pancakes. The product justifies its healthy approach.
The chocolate pancake doesn’t meet the expectations as per the name. The absence of sweetness and the coarse texture of ragi may disappoint kids a bit. However, if you wish to serve ragi to your kids, the chocolate pancake can be served with the toppings like berries, chocolate sauce, ice cream and honey as well.
